When undertaking a project it’s important to know exactly what’s required and what’s expected. It’s also important to know if there is a deadline on the project. As a people manager I need to know as much detail as possible because I usually have to delegate. Usually there is always background information or reference material on the intranet. There is a wealth of experience within manufacturing so I usually approach people in different departments i.e. engineering, Quality or distribution. Even though it’s a fast paced environment, people are always willing to give you time and help.
